Safe Buying and Selling
Tips for safer buying, selling, adoption, and communication on the 4noge.rs platform.
4noge.rs is a platform that connects users, but it does not directly take part in buying and selling, adoption, or payment processing.
That is why it is important to handle every conversation, agreement, and possible payment carefully, after verifying the other party and all relevant information.
1. Verify the advertiser's identity
Avoid arrangements with people who refuse an in-person meeting, do not want to share basic information about themselves, or avoid giving clear answers about the pet, listing, or service.
If possible, check the user's profile, reviews, previous posts, and communication style. For pet listings, ask for additional details about origin, vaccination, health condition, living conditions, and documentation.
Tip: If the listing is local, prefer an in-person meeting and a direct check of the pet before making any final agreement.
2. Communicate carefully and clearly
Be cautious with users who do not reply clearly, try to rush you, or immediately ask you to move to other apps without a clear reason.
Whenever possible, keep communication within the platform or at least have a clear record of the agreement, since that can be useful if a problem needs to be reported later.
Pay attention: Contradictory messages, unclear answers, and sudden changes in the story are often the first signs of suspicious behavior.
3. Do not send money in advance without verification
Do not send money in advance to unknown people, especially if they insist on speed, overseas transfers, payments through intermediaries, or methods that are difficult to dispute and reverse.
Be especially careful if the other side asks for extra costs for transport, reservation, special delivery, insurance, or other unexpected fees that were not clearly mentioned from the start.
Important: If you have not verified the person, the pet, and the documentation, do not make any payment.
4. Watch out for unrealistic listings
Be extra careful when a listing has an extremely low price, a supposedly free purebred pet, an urgent sale without a clear reason, or claims that seem too good to be true.
Generic descriptions, avoiding specific questions, low-quality photos, or constantly changing deal conditions during communication can also be warning signs.
Rule: If an offer seems too good to be true, it most likely needs additional verification.
5. Protect your personal and financial data
Never share your card number, CVV/CVC code, passwords, SMS verification codes, or other sensitive data with unknown people.
If the other side asks for more information than is reasonably needed for a normal buying, selling, adoption, or service arrangement, stop the communication and report that behavior.
Note: Legitimate communication through a listing does not require sharing banking or account access data.
6. Be careful with messages claiming to be from 4noge.rs
If you receive a message or email that appears to come from 4noge.rs and asks for your password, card number, account number, or other sensitive information, do not reply and do not open suspicious links.
4noge.rs will never ask you to send sensitive data through regular messages or email. Whenever you doubt a message's authenticity, verify it only through official contact channels.
7. Report suspicious situations
If you notice a suspicious listing, impersonation, scam attempt, or an inappropriate request for payment, report it to the platform administrators as soon as possible.
If you suspect you have already been harmed, save the messages, photos, listings, payment confirmations, and any other relevant evidence, since they may be important for the report.
